Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?

We are located in the heart of downtown Edmonton near Grant MacEwan on 10217-106 st

Where can I park?

Street parking is available but keep in mind we are situated near the Ice District which means on event days paid parking is still in effect between 6-9pm and on Saturdays. Alternatively, there is a lot across from Metro which provides reasonable rates.

Class Sizes

We like to keep our classes small so that every student gets the attention they need. Class sizes will vary between 6-12 students depending on the type of workshop. Please email us if you prefer 1-on-1 lessons.

Do I need a sewing machine?

We have 10 x Brother NQ700 sewing machines in our studio that we teach on, so there is no need to lug yours to class. If you have any questions about your machine, we will gladly point you towards the right resources to get you sewing on your own machine.

Can children attend workshops?

Most definitely! Minimum age is 7 and currently we only have programs for kids 7-12. We are also working on developing projects for parents and children who want to learn how to sew together.

Can I drink and snack in the studio?

Only closed water bottles are allowed near workstations. If you must put something in your stomach during class, please eat in the kitchen or out in the hall.

What time should I arrive for class?

Studio doors open 10 minutes before class. We will be able to let you in the building 20 minutes before class where you can wait in the hallways or waiting area on the second floor.

My cat has taken me hostage in my own home so I can’t make the class. What can I do?

Due to the limited availability, we do not offer refunds and cannot guarantee re-bookings if you cannot attend your scheduled workshop. We will try our best to accommodate any date changes and place you on our waiting list for workshops that are not fully booked.

Traffic sucks today! Sorry but I am running late!

Please give us a call if you are running late so we can inform the teacher. If you are going to be more than 15 minutes late, this will likely be disruptive to everyone else in attendance and you will not be able to join the class.

Payment Methods

We accept all methods of payments online and only cards in the studio.

Refunds

Our workshops are all final sale! We do not offer refunds for any classes except in the rare event a workshop has been cancelled (excluding cancellation of low enrolled classes). Workshop spaces are limited.

Minimum number of registrants

We only run workshops that have 60% registration. In the event of low enrollment, the class will be rescheduled and we aim to give you at least 48 hour notice.

The class date I want to register for is full, do you have a waiting list?

Of course! Please check back on our website or subscribe to our mailing list to be notified of any spaces that may become available.
